Friends of Lone Fir’s closest ally has always been Metro, the governmental agency which owns and manages the Lone Fir Pioneer Cemetery, along with 13 other pioneer cemeteries in Multnomah County. Our mutual cooperation has enabled us both to showcase Lone Fir Pioneer Cemetery as a destination spot in Portland for any visitor. Friends’ efforts repairing headstones helps hold the cemetery together while Metro’s efforts help Friends of Lone Fir offer its events safely and efficiently. Our mutual networks are able to serve great numbers of volunteers and provide historical information available nowhere else, easily available to all.
Cemetery Hours and Directions
Lone Fir Cemetery is open to the public 365 days of the year, from dawn to dusk. Visitors must leave by sundown. In order to protect wildlife habitat and for their own safety, pets are not permitted at any Metro park, natural area or facility. Functioning seeing-eye dogs or other service animals are permitted with proper identification and cleanup materials.
The entrance of Lone Fir Cemetery has been moved. Cars now enter Southeast 26th Street between Stark and Morrison streets.
The cemetery is on Tri Met bus line 15.
