Although the collective love for Lone Fir Cemetery is what keeps so many people involved, there are a myriad of reasons that brought our members together.
Knowing someone who is buried at Lone Fir creates a deep, long-standing relationship that is often passed along to other generations. Having a passion for history and for the great city of Portland brings people of all ages and backgrounds to Lone Fir. Living in the neighborhood conjures up a sense of pride and responsibility to keep Lone Fir beautiful. The tranquility of cemeteries and greenspaces with their canopies of majestic trees attracts yet another group of dedicated people who want to support Lone Fir.
Annual membership is a way to sustain education, preservation and restoration projects coordinated by Friends of Lone Fir Cemetery. It’s an investment in one of the most significant greenspaces in Portland, and enables you to align yourself with like-minded people who care about Lone Fir Cemetery for the same reasons that you do.

Annual membership includes a free tour or admission to an event per year and our newsletter ‘Engravings’, e-mail updates on information regarding Lone Fir and events having some connection to the cemetery.
Donations can be earmarked for the Chinese Immigrant Memorial, Asylum Patient Memorial, Pioneer Rose Garden, Angel Project, Monument Repair or Special Projects. All donations are tax-deductible.
